Since being founded by a group of physicians and HCA in 1972, North Florida Regional Medical Center has provided the community with high quality, cost-effective health care. North Florida Regional is a full service medical and surgical acute care center offering comprehensive heart care, cancer care, women's health, senior care and orthopedic/neurosurgery and spine services.
 
North Florida Regional has more than 425 physicians on staff in 40 different specialties. In addition, comprehensive programs covering the full spectrum of care are available from patient education and prevention to diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
 
North Florida Regional has achieved numerous milestones since opening its doors in 1973. It was the first hospital to receive accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) during its first year of operation.
 
NFRMC has been recognized eight times as one of the 100 Top Hospitals. North Florida Regional is the only non-teaching hospital to receive this distinction. The hospital's maternity unit has been selected as one of the "Top 10" maternity units in the nation by Child magazine and by HealthGrades.
