Facility Details

Lake City Medical Center is an 87-bed acute care hospital with in-patient and outpatient surgical services. For more than 50 years, Lake City Medical Center has provided medical care to this community - the home to our patients, our staff and our physicians.

In 1999, we opened a $33 million replacement facility. But a new building is not the only thing we have accomplished. For the seventh consecutive year, we were voted "Best Hospital" by readers of our local newspaper, "The Lake City Reporter."

In addition, we continue to receive high patient satisfaction on surveys of our hospital conducted by the Gallup Company. We are also accreditied by the Joint Commission, your assurance that we hold ourselves up to the highest standards in health care.

Lake City is a beautiful community of green trees and rolling hills with southern charm. Lake City has grown into a town that, while cherishing its small-community charm and manners, it is forward thinking enough to plan, organize, develop and support modern conveniences and amenities.

A variety of businesses thrive here and employ thousands of workers in professions that range from mining to manufacturing. Tourism is also a benefit to our area, as Interstates 10 and 75 cross here, supporting more than two thousand motel rooms and numerous eateries.

Public education includes 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 2 high schools, one 2 yr college and 2 private elementary schools. Located near the intersection of I-75 and I-10 just 45 minutes to Gainesville and the University of Florida. Lake City is convenient to the East or West coasts of Florida and close to Georgia border.
